Vivo’s first foldable smartphone appears in Apps Photos

It’s been a while since we’ve heard about Vivo’s next-generation foldable technology, and recent leaks have finally given us our first look at the foldable smartphone X Fold. So far, the smartphone has appeared in many leaks and rumors, which gave an idea of what to expect from the device in terms of specifications. But now Vivo X Fold has appeared in some practical shots.

The device was recently seen on a Chinese subway with a thick protective box to hide it from the public.

The pictures show that the upcoming X Fold has a square-shaped folding screen, and thanks to the company’s intricate hinge mechanism, there are no visible wrinkles in the middle of the panel. The folding screen is also expected to be covered with ultra-thin glass (UTG).

According to previous rumors, the device is expected to support an 8-inch QHD + folding display with a standard refresh rate of 120Hz. Under the hood, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset is expected to feature a 4,600 mAh battery pack that supports 80 W fast charging and 50 W wireless charging. The device is also expected to use a fingerprint scanner on the ultrasound display.
